Honoring Leadership, Celebrating Community: Global Research Succeeds When It Works Locally

At H Clinical, we believe that global research succeeds when it works locally. What’s more, clinical research must begin and end with people—the patients, providers, and communities that make breakthroughs possible. That belief has been our foundation since day one. So, when our Co-Founder and CEO, Mitchell Parrish, was recently honored by Marquis Who’s Who for his leadership in life sciences and global clinical trials, it wasn’t just a personal achievement. This is a recognition of everything our team works toward.

Mitchell’s journey to this moment is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: that global research only succeeds when it works locally.

Building Something Different

Since its founding in 2021, H Clinical has been committed to rethinking how trials operate in Latin America. From home visits and remote monitoring to site staffing, patient recruitment, logistics, and supply management, our mission has been to support trial sponsors and research sites. All of this while making participation more accessible to underserved communities.

Under Mitchell’s leadership, what began as a vision to close the gap between international trial sponsors and local patients is now a reality across more than 700 communities in 22 countries. We’ve supported the largest decentralized trial in the region’s history and enabled life-saving access to treatments. As a result, we help elevate Latin America as a vital contributor to global clinical innovation.

This recognition from Marquis Who’s Who is a testament to that journey. But as Mitchell himself notes in his message of thanks, none of this happens without people.

“Everything we’ve accomplished is thanks to the extraordinary people I work alongside every day. This includes our leadership team, our staff across Latin America, and our clients who trust us to help support sites and reach patients in meaningful, community-centered ways.”

A Career Defined by Purpose

Before founding H Clinical, Mitchell held senior leadership roles in clinical operations and law, including as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Quorum Review IRB (now Advarra). There, he helped develop the industry’s first cloud-based eConsent platform and oversaw regulatory review of more than 12,000 trials annually. Then later, led the merger that created one of the largest commercial IRB organizations in the world.

But it was his early exposure to Latin American regulatory agencies—and the realization that entire populations were routinely left out of research—that sparked the next chapter. Rather than building another centralized service company, Mitchell set out to build something different. He envisioned a company that would bring trials to patients, not the other way around.

This approach requires more than operational changes; it demands deep cultural knowledge, local talent, and lasting community partnerships. Today, H Clinical’s field teams live and work in the very communities we serve. That proximity doesn’t just improve engagement. It strengthens data quality, increases retention, and creates research ecosystems that last far beyond the life of a single protocol.

Making Room for What Matters

We are proud to be part of a growing movement that puts patients at the center of trial design and delivery. But our version of “patient-centered” goes a step further. It means being present, being consistent, and being accountable to the communities we serve.

As Mitchell often says, decentralization is not just about technology—it’s about trust.

“Our teams live and work in the communities they serve, and that makes all the difference in patient engagement and outcomes.”

This philosophy shapes everything from our hiring practices to our training models and support systems. It also makes H Clinical a trusted partner for sponsors looking to reach real-world populations with care, compassion, and consistency.

What Comes Next

As we look to the future, our priorities are clear: expand inclusion, advance innovation, and strengthen infrastructure to support long-term regional success. We’re working to bring more trial opportunities to rural and underserved populations. This aligns with the goal of building one of the most robust, patient-centered clinical research networks in the world.

Recognition like this one is meaningful not because it signals an endpoint, but because it marks progress. There is still a tremendous amount of work ahead—but we remain committed to doing that work with integrity, with humility, and with people at the center.

To everyone who has been part of this journey—thank you. We are just getting started.
